STEM education programming is a comprehensive approach to learning. It focuses on the four subjects: science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM). The concept has been around for more than twenty years, but focus has intensified after a 2005 report by the U.S. National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine emphasized the links between prosperity, jobs dependent on STEM knowledge, and continued innovation to addressing societal problems.
